Cecile McPeak + Rachel Martin = Just Another Button Company

Just Another Button Company is a family owned and operated business. Cecile (Mom) founded JABC in 1996, hand-making and selling polymer clay buttons to quilt and cross stitch shops across the USA. In the 20+ years since, she and her team of local button-makers continue to provide quality, unique embellishments to the creative community. In 2011, Rachel (daughter) joined JABC, eager to learn about running a creative business. She has made her mark on JABC as a member of the design team — creating patterns, graphics and even dreaming up the Button Lover’s Club. Cecile and Rachel now partner as co-creative directors of Just Another Button Company.

Now that you know a bit about who we are, we’d love to give you a peek at what we do.

Our handmade buttons are made from polymer clay and perfect for embellishing your favorite quilts! We make over 2000 styles so it’s impossible to pick a favorite! The buttons are sturdy and machine washable and dry-able.

We hand-dye buttons to coordinate with current popular colors so that you’ll always find buttons that match your quilting fabrics! We offer 4 kinds of hand-dyed button packs (sprinkles, snack packs, party packs, and smoothies) each featuring a different style of button to meet your needs. The 4 kinds of packs are each available in 35 colors. That’s 140 different packs of hand-dyed buttons to choose from!

Just Pins…these adorable sewing pins are the embellishments your favorite pincushions have been waiting for! The pins are stainless steel and topped with a slice of our handmade polymer clay art. We have more than 150 sets to choose from!

Our Splendid Sampler 2 Block

We were thrilled to be invited by Pat and Jane to contribute a block to the Splendid Sampler 2 book! Of course the natural choice for our block was a button!

Button Up! Block

You’ll find our block on page 90 of the Splendid Sampler 2. We love how it combines piecing and applique to create the look of a unique, 4 hole rimmed  button.

Tip for Button Up! Block: Use the smallest scissors you have to cut out the 4 button holes. Using small scissors will give you cleaner, more precise cuts. I used my 6″ Perfect Scissors by Karen Kay Buckley.

We’ve been sewing along with the Splendid Sampler using Twilight fabric by 1 Canoe 2 for Moda. Check out some of our collection so far.
